In this talk Darren van der Merwe, print studio coordinator and master printer at LPS, will present a talk on the practice of editioning within Fine Art Printmaking. The talk will broadly cover editioning across various print processes.
In the talk we will consider aspects such as:
Where does the idea of editioning come from?
How do I sign and number prints and what do they mean?
What do I need to get ready before I can edition?
Keeping printer’s notes
The different stages of developing a print from the initial idea through to pulling the final print.
This talk is beneficial for any artists and printmakers who want to take their print production to a professional level, or for artists who are interested in working with a professional printer to produce work.
